Gerard Muhlot

Home / France / Gerard Muhlot
Our third day in Paris saw a visit to Gerard Mulot, organised by Meeting the French.
For 25 Euro a person we went ‘behind the scenes’ at the shop where macaroons and chocolates are made for all his stores. The visit lasted an hour during which we got to try a coconut and passionfruit macaroon, and a nougat macaroon.
They make an enormous quantity each day in a pretty darn small space.

thanks to an automatic piping machine these 480 half shells were done in about 3 minutes.

we also observed the chocolate making process
and all too soon it was over. It was fun to get a better idea of how both these processes work, however I probably wouldn’t recommend this tour in the future unless you’re keen to know the process.

I’d prefer to spend the money instead on the massive range of delights in the shop!
