After spending the first night in a room without a window, I requested a move and ended up in this room at the Scarlet Hotel
Rather funky interior, however I did feel it was quite dark.
The Scarlet was literally around the corner from Maxwell Road Hawker Centre, where I enjoyed a chicken murtabak.
As well as a visit to Tian Tian, made famous from a visit by Anthony Bourdain. Interestingly I didn’t think it was any better than many of the other chicken rices I tasted. I found the gelatinous chicken sauce poured over the top a little strange.
More than a couple of visits to Lau Pa Sat during the stay at the Sofitel, including these yummy noodles that were devoured more than once.
How good are these chopsticks? the team went out for Yee Sang (Chinese New Year) to the Crystal Jade in the Paragon shopping centre on Orchard Road
Post work drinks were usually somewhere down on Boat Quay. Spent one night at a Shisha bar with one of my best mates who was also in town for work that week.
Check out the moon right next to the Marina Bay Sands.
Beautiful flower display in the foyer of the Fullerton.
On my last day I took a wander from the Sofitel around to the Marina Bay complex, where I spent a brief (but expensive) time in the casino, and window shopped the complex – mainly the lower level where the more mainstream affordable shops were. This also co-incides with the level where the ‘gondola’ rides take place!
