After a quick mosey around the newly renovated Air NZ lounge, I headed back to the familiar territory of the First Class side of the Krisflyer lounge where I was once again warmly greeted by Pam.
Unfortunately with this morning flight the kitchen only offers eggs cooked to order in addition to the small buffet on offer, however a request for a bowl of noodles was no trouble at all and I tucked in to tide me over for breakfast on the flight

Not the best view of the flight up, but i did get to see the A380 in the special livery in the background

This end of the terminal is mainly Star Alliance, as well as the regular Emirates A380 which seems to land around an hour before SQ212 takeoff.

Singapore Airlines service is usually very good – however on this flight I was directed to my seat from the door rather than walked, and cabin crew were manically running around, tucking in their uniforms etc. Not the normal polished start to a flight.

Soon it was time to take off from this great city of ours

I refrained from the champagne until airborne, and the breakfast service began.

Whilst not particularly appetising, these noodles had a good flavour.

The terrain in woop woop was stunning

Whilst I didn’t purchase the in-flight wifi, i did manage to clear the never-ending emails and built up a healthy outbox for touchdown in Singapore. Before long it was time for the lunch service
I have trouble looking past the buttery goodness of the garlic bread on SQ

And this tasty terrine of rabbit & chicken which tasted far better than it looked

By this time the Dom Perignon and Krug had both been sampled and I had moved onto the whites however the riesling was sickly sweet

Dessert was frankly a disappointment.

At some point during lunch we fly over Uluru/ Ayers Rock. A visit is on my bucket list but for now, this view will have to do!

or head this way to read about the onwards flight on SQ318
Meanwhile, here’s some panoramics of the cabin from this flight using my iphone 6+
