As we were only in town for 24 hours we ended up choosing the W Union Square on a Virtuoso rate of USD$299 + taxes, which included breakfast and a USD$100 food and beverage credit. It was also close to friends who we were meeting for dinner!
The room was a decent size for New York, with all the necessary conveniences within walking distance, which was welcomed given the wind factor pushed the temperatures below 0C!
Bathroom was dated
Our room had a small view onto Union Park
They’d done their best to try and liven up the rather drab interiors
But it did feel a little staid, particularly for a W
Caught a bit of the sunset which was nice! (sans window cleaning ropes)
Room service pricing was ridiculous so we used up most of our F&B credit in the bar downstairs
And tempted fate with a crappy New York breakfast the next morning. Yet to find a decent hotel breakfast in New York – shout out if you’ve found one!
A quick stroll around Union Square
This shot is looking back towards the hotel
Before a short stroll up to the Flatiron building
And before we knew it, it was time to head back to JFK for Thanksgiving in Texas
